Accessibility
This accessibility statement applies to BookingsPlus. This website is run by Kajima Community. This website is currently in the BETA phase. This means we are actively developing the platform. As additional website pages and functionality are introduced, this accessibility statement will evolve.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
change colours and contrast levels
zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible is this website?
Floor plans are saved as images and text-to-speech applications may not work on the text.
Some images on the website do not currently have alternate text.
Certain elements do not have a suitable contrast ratio.
Placeholder text has been used as Labels for fields.
Not all links have discernible text.
Layout tables on some pages may not work with some screen readers.
Some pages do not contain a level-one heading
Some UI components on the pages are not accessible via the keyboard.
Some links are not distinguishable from the surrounding text.
All touch targets on the web pages do not have sufficient size and space due to which the user interaction with the site on mobile devices is not optimal.
How we tested this website
This website was last tested on 7th October 2024.
When concluding the BETA phase, the website will undergo a formal accessibility test. You will find the results in this accessibility statement. The next test is scheduled for Q2 2025.
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
We are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The following issues are rated as high in terms of the severity of impact:
Some images do not currently have alternate text, for example, the Logo image on the homepage, and photographs on the Venue pages. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 - Non-text Content.
Elements must meet minimum colour contrast ratio thresholds. The element's background colour could not be determined because it is overlapped by another element; content is too short to determine if it is actual text content. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.11 - Non-text Contrast.
UI functionality must be made accessible via the keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 - Keyboard.
All touch targets must be 24px large, or leave sufficient space. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.5.8 - Target Size (Minimum).
The first interactive item on the Web page must be a link to the beginning of the main content. This ensures that a mechanism is available to bypass blocks of content that are repeated on multiple Web pages by skipping directly to the main content of the Web page and the element is visible when it receives keyboard focus. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.2.3 - Consistent Navigation.
Not all links have discernible text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 - Name, Role, Value.
We aim to solve all of the above high-priority problems by the next test.
The following issues are rated as medium in terms of the severity of impact
When CSS is removed from the pages, most components become invisible or partially visible, with no menu, log in or search functionality available. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships.
On the enquiry form, there are some labels not correctly associated with the form control, making it inaccessible to screen readers who rely on them. On this form, there is also an empty table header that contains no text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships.
The sign-up page skips heading level three which can potentially lead to some assistive technologies returning an incorrect readout of the page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships & 2.4.6 - Headings and Labels.
Links on the website are not distinguishable from the normal text as they are neither underlined nor have a different colour. They are underlined only on hover. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.1 - Use of Colour & 1.4.3 - Contrast (Minimum).
There is an insufficient keyboard focus colour contrast for the ‘Go’ button on the sign-up page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 - Contrast (Minimum).
Some drop-down menus can trap keyboard users in a loop until a choice is made. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.2 - No Keyboard Trap.
Some adjacent links go to the same URL. Each venue has two links, one on the name and one on the number of spaces. This can create redundancy and confusion for users, especially those using screen readers. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 - Link Purpose (In Context).
Multiple links with the same description “BOOK NOW” that lead to different pages can cause confusion for screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 - Link Purpose (In Context).
The enquiry details form control does not have a corresponding descriptive label. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.2 - Labels or Instructions.
On the enquiry form, there are some labels not correctly associated with the form control, making it inaccessible to screen readers who rely on them. On this form, there is also an empty table header that contains no text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 - Info and Relationships.
